For a ‘World of Warcraft’ player, Hearthstone refers to the white-and-turquoise rock that has sent millions of players back to their respective inns since 2004. Unlike World of Warcraft (WoW) spree, this game does not involve laborious campaigns, elaborate dungeons and raids which last for many hours. This game was created by Blizzard Entertainment which is the fourth released game set in the fantasy Warcraft universe, which was first introduced by Warcraft: Orcs & Humans in 1994. There are 5 sets to this game the first expansion set of the game being, The Burning Crusade which was released in the year 2007, the second expansion set was Wrath of the Lich King, released in the following year. The third expansion set, Cataclysm was released two years after. The fourth expansion set, Mists of Pandaria, was released in 2012 and finally the fifth expansion set, Warlords of Draenor, was announced in the year 2013.

The innovative part of the game is that, when you are waiting for 90 seconds for the opponents to finish their turn you can tap iron gongs, make the dwarfs and orcs cheer for you when you make a good move or just fiddle with the water mill on the board. Hearthstone adapts a familiar design like whittling of the health bar when one gets attacked and mana bar automatically expands with passing of each turn.
The decks are modelled on familiar world of Warcraft classes. So there are many attacks and spells which are similar to WoW. For instance, if one uses a hunter deck one could set traps or unleash three snakes, the opponent could use taunt ability to fend off one’s attack and make one attack another card instead. Another interesting feature about the game is that one can build one’s own decks. But this is one of the most difficult thing to do for the rookies. This is the stage where the experience of one’s abilities comes into play. The experienced individuals have an advantage as they know what class functions in what way and they also know what cards not fit into their decks and hence gain an upper hand over the inexperienced individuals as their skills and abilities are tested at crunch times. Hearthstone, after months of tweaking and suggestions has emerged as a complete winner. It gets the best DotA as well as World of Warcraft.
It is one game which can be played while one is rushing for work or when one is stuck in ceremonies or a boring party. The game could still use some tweaks like an in-built spectator mode or a replay option so that players can learn from their own mistakes.
