Many of us go gaga over a new piece of technology, be it a smartphone or a laptop or a camera. Some are even capable of having heated discussions while defending their favorite gadgets. These tech toys give some the adrenaline rush and they can spend hours talking about their features. While the gadgets that boast of a slew of features generally do not come into our possession without shelling a hefty sum from our pockets, some of them are more expensive than the others. And when I say expensive, I mean they are really, really costly. Have a look at some of the most expensive gadgets in the world.

1. IPhone 5 Black Diamond

This stunning smartphone studded with more than 600 diamonds costs a whopping $15 million!!! The highpoint of this black-and-gold iPhone 5 is the single, perfect black deep-cut diamond that has swapped the home button. It took almost 10 weeks to build the chassis with solid gold and adorn it with 600 diamonds. This masterpiece has been completely crafted by hand. It has about 135 grams of 24-carat gold and a sapphire glass set in the screen. The back has the Apple logo showing off 53 flawless diamonds. Made by Liverpool based businessman Stuart Hughes, who has earlier built a diamond iPhone 4, Platinum MacBook Air and Gold iPad 2, this stunning device was ordered by a Chinese businessman. While it definitely is fancy, I am not quite sure how many tech junkies can afford it.

2. Camael Diamonds iPad

While the exquisite Black Diamond seems like a distant dream, here is something that may well be within the reach of a few people. This iPad is designed with 18-carat gold and has 300 shining diamonds on its back. The prices of the last two gadgets may have run into millions, there are some devices that are priced well below a million. Crafted by the man behind iPhone 5 Black Diamond, Stuart Hughes, the MacBook Air Supreme Platinum Edition uses seven kilograms of platinum and costs $500,000. Though the Mac is not embedded with sapphire or diamonds, yet it is extravagant and beautiful. With only five units in existence, this exquisite and luxurious work of art is subtle yet elegant.
