Jagriti Yatra 2013-A life changing Journey

Build and Help build Indian through Enterprise
Explore and discover India and a new Indian inside you
All outside the comfort of your homes, in a moving train across India.

Sounds like a dream project, doesn’t it? But 450 handpicked young guns of India, travel 8000 kms in 15 days to 12 different destinations, meeting 15 role models breathing life to this dream. Jagriti yatra is one such venture which aims to enlighten and empower the entrepreneurial spirit of youngsters of India.

The vision of Jagriti is ‘building India through enterprise’. It focuses on seven verticals of development.

  1. Agriculture
  2. Education
  3. Energy
  4. Healthcare
  5. Manufacturing
  6. Water & Sanitation
  7. Arts & Culture & Sports

Jagriti’s vision is larger than its one or two elements. Broadly, it stands on 3 pillars:

  1. Jagriti Yarta (JY)
  2. Jagriti Enterprise Network (JEN)
  3. Jagriti Enterprise Institutes (JEI)

These three ultimately contribute to Jagriti’s overall vision of creating job creators in place of job seekers. Therefore Jagriti Yatra is is one of the three important founding pillars of Jagriti.

In 1997, Jagriti Yatra’s chairman Shashank Mani organized the Azad Bharat Rail Yatra to mark 50 years of India’s independence. Today, Jagriti Yatra continues to be supported by a variety of companies, trusts and individuals, including Dell, Google, Coca-Cola, and Cairn India.

Jagriti Yatra is an ambitious train journey of 8000 kms travelling the length and breadth of the country, carrying 450 young minds: and exposing them to individuals and enterprises that are developing unique solutions to India’s challenges. From the ‘compassionate business’ of Aravind Eye Care to the grit and gumption of Anshu Gupta; to the determination of the high-energy women of SEWA, each institution visited has an inspiring story to tell. And by taking the Yatris to the karmabhoomi of these role models, Jagriti seeks to galvanize them to start believing in Enterprise-Led-Development early in their lives.

60% Yatris come from small towns and villages. The young participants and facilitators live on the train. They de-board at specific destinations to meet inspirational change-makers in those places. These change-makers are role models who are pursuing commendable Nation Building work in their communities and domains. Apart inspiring role models at various stops, the Yatra is also joined by accomplished ‘Resource Persons’. They are leaders from one or more of the seven verticals of development (Agriculture, Education, Healthcare, Energy, Arts & Culture & Sports, Manufacturing, Water & Sanitation) or are experts in business domains such as marketing and finance.

You cannot experience the Yatra from hearing or reading about it – You need to hop on to the Jagriti Rail and be fully immersed in the journey to experience its power and magic.

Kuchh dekha hai, kuchh dekhenge; Kuchh likkha

hai, kuchh likh denge…

Yaaron chalo! Badalne ki rut hai;
