Let me tell you a story,
The story of how my insanely stupid brother became a saint!
I mean he didn’t sell his Ferrari and ran away to Himalayas to become a monk! But his way of taking on life is nevertheless similar to that of a saint. Thus my inference to call him a saint is justified!
If you had a brother, who was happy no matter what happened!(good or bad) then you will know my plight. Can you believe this guy? And there is more to it than this!
People around him were driven by his optimism and his principals were idealized. For the first time in my life I started feeling jealous, I wanted to be like him! Was he always like this? The answer is an absolute no. So when did he become a saint?
And what triggered these changes? The answer to the question is Meditation.
Our lives are so simple, yet we make them complex by over thinking and over reaching, which ultimately causes stress. How to over this stress? And stay happy?
Stress is not the only factor that is polluting our lives, there are many other things.And can meditation can be an ultimate solution to all this problems?
The rest in meditation is deeper than the deepest sleep that you can ever have. In today’s world it is an essential practice for mental hygiene, and not to mention every student must definitely practice some form of mediation. A calm mind is the source for good concentration, clarity, improvement in social skills, healing everything is possible by mediation.

Meditation has even more plus points than just happiness. Recent investigations on meditation have linked it to increased intelligence. Researchers at Harvard,Yale, and MIT conducted brain scans that reveal an increased thickness in the parts of the brain that deal with attention and sensory input processing. Another study investigated the effects of a special form of meditation and Hick’s reaction time, which are both correlated with general intelligence. In that study
It was proven that people who meditate had improved intelligence, response and concentration when compared that of non- mediators. A further study on meditation and effects on brain showed positive results in increase in reflex and Self-discipline, The effect of self-discipline on final grades stayed even when controlling for grades, achievement-test scores, and measured IQ.
Do you know that recently government has made it mandatory for degree colleges to attend a special meditation course? It’s in their curriculum now!
And in NASA, a regulation has been passes for astronauts; they got to meditate before entering the training center, and officials have even provided a hall for them to meditate.
Meditation is no more a luxury. It is a necessity. To be unconditionally happy and to have peace of mind, like my little brother, to ensure both mental and physical health.
All this meditation stuff hasn’t stopped my brother from teasing or hitting me, so it doesn’t exactly change you, it makes you discover thyself! What can be make you more happy than the real you?
