Swami Vivekananda

Swami Vivekananda, as the entire world knows is the culture creator of the world. If it is about Samaritans, the preaching’s of Swami Vivekananda still jingles in every ear.

He brought forth a new understanding of religion. He threw light on the fact that religion is as equally scientific as science itself, thus tagging religion as “science of consciousness”. He made the world understand the complementary attitude of science with religion and made them believe, it’s no different. The universal conception makes religion free from superstitious believes, priest craft and moves it towards pursuit of freedom, knowledge and happiness.

His concept of potential divinity of soul gave a new horizon to evolve concept of man! This is the age of humanism, which states man as the center of every activity. Though man is the thinking mind behind what every does and doesn’t, he causes self-destruction as well.

Morality and ethics are basically based on fear and punishment! Vivekananda’s theory and principle on morality was based on intrinsic purity of the soul.By reading Indian scripts to the west, he tried convincing people about their believes and tried bridging the gap between the west and east. He even taught Indians how to master western science

His famous teachings:

  1. We want that education by which character is formed, strength of mind is increased, the intellect is expanded, and by which one can stand on one’s own feet.
  2. Education is the manifestation of the perfection already in man.
  3. Strength, strength it is that we want so much in this life, for what we call sin and sorrow have all one cause, and that is our weakness. With weakness comes ignorance, and with ignorance comes misery.
  4. They alone live who live for others, the rest are more dead than alive.

Indeed swami Vivekananda is the man of the centuries, whose preaching’s, teachings as well as theories have shaped the world and people in new horizon!
